Their Session: Sandy Hook Lighthouse, Highlands, NJ
I had such a great time with Kim and Kevin at their engagement session! I had never been before, but I was so thrilled to finally have an excuse to photograph a lighthouse. We had a lovely day in autumn and got some sun in before it set. I'm excited to share some gems from their session, but I'd love to share more about their story first!
How They Met:
Kevin's parents had known Kim's family and kept trying to set the two up together. Kim wasn't really down for that kind of arrangement, so a few years passed by. Interestingly enough, both of these two kids were on the same dating app. Kevin reached out to Kim convinced he knew her, and she confirmed!
The Proposal:
Kim arrived to spend the weekend at Kevin's place with her packed bags. When she opened the door, she saw Kevin standing down the hallway. There were candles and rose petals lining the length of the hallway. Kevin had an illuminated sign that said "Marry Me" and was surrounded by candles as well. He had the song "Grow Old With Me" by Florida Georgia Line playing in the background and Kim said she cried like a BABY! Kevin proposed with a ring that has the words "GROW OLD WITH ME" engraved on the inside. Kim's sister was there taking video of the proposal after she helped him plan it! How friggen' sweet is this?!!!
Their Love:
Kim loves that they always work things out and says that she can't stay mad at him! Kevin loves the fact that Kim can cook him a killer meal. He also calls her the "chunckette" to his "chunk." Their favorite part of being together is that they always have fun! They are also looking forward to starting their family with some little babies, or should I say, "chunks," in the future.
Kim & Kevin:
Thank you both so much for introducing me to a fun new spot. You two were so fun running in the middle of the road and into the creepy dead end cement box! I LOVE that you both call each other "chunk!" The engraving on Kim's engagement ring really left an impression on me, and it's such a sweet + tender thing! I can't wait to see you two dance (and maybe cry) to your song at your wedding!
